Inpatient Training

DCH Regional Medical Center

Located just minutes from The University of Alabama campus, DCH Regional Medical Center is a tertiary referral hospital serving West Alabama. As the primary participating site for the Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency, DCH provides residents with exposure to a broad range of common and complex medical conditions through comprehensive inpatient training, specialty services and interdisciplinary care.

Outpatient Clinic / Ambulatory Care

The UA College of Community Health Sciences operates a network of multi-specialty outpatient clinical sites as part of the University Medical Center (UMC) system. These clinics serve as vital sources of primary health care in communities across West Alabama and are integral to the clinical education and training of residents and medical students.

University Medical Center in Tuscaloosa and UMC-Northport are designated ACGME-accredited continuity clinics, providing core longitudinal experiences for residents in alignment with board eligibility requirements.

UMC-Northport

Just minutes from the UA campus, UMC-Northport expands access to care in a nearby growing suburban community.

Residents are assigned a patient panel for the duration of their training. Panels are composed of patients from graduating residents, new patients, ED/inpatient discharges and family members of existing panel patients (upon request).
