Provide a year of intensive training in primary care sports medicine for physicians from family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, or emergency medicine backgrounds, with an emphasis on the prevention, evaluation, and management of medical and orthopedic conditions unique to athletes and active individuals.
Deliver procedural training in joint and soft tissue injections, fracture management, and diagnostic ultrasound aligned with the current standards of primary care sports medicine.
Develop and maintain a curriculum that fosters life-long learning and prepares fellows for the CAQ in Sports Medicine.
Recruit exceptional fellow candidates nationally to ensure a diverse and dynamic learning environment.
Encourage and support faculty and fellow engagement in research, including interdisciplinary collaboration with other University departments—with a goal of at least one publication or national presentation annually.
Maintain an annual graduate survey to guide ongoing program and curriculum development.
Advance the clinical enterprise by expanding faculty, staff, and fellows, and through the growth of clinical and educational facilities to enhance productivity, care quality, and training experiences.
Cultivate an environment of scholarship, research, and professional development, empowering fellows to provide the highest quality care to their current and future patients.
